Hatch Green Chile Avocado Dip
This New Mexico-style guacamole gets a flavorful twist with fire-roasted green chiles. Creamy, smoky, and just the right amount of heat — perfect for tacos, chips, or burgers.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- ½ cup fire-roasted Hatch green chiles peeled, seeded, chopped
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- 1 small tomato diced (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- Cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut avocados in half, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a bowl.
- Mash with a fork until smooth but slightly chunky.
- Add chopped green chiles, red onion, tomato (if using), lime juice, and cilantro.
- Sprinkle in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir gently to combine.
- Taste and adjust salt/lime to your liking.
- Serve immediately or cover with plastic wrap pressed to surface to avoid browning.
